Why do the FY21 rates in the benefits guide and the enrollment form not match?

If you are an active employee paying for your SDPEBA dental or vision through a payroll deduction, you are required to fill out the FY21 Active Open Enrollment Form. This form shows rates in a 26-cycle amount. The AFSCME127, SDMEA and SDPOA all have the rates shown in a 24-cycle amount. Why is that?

The rates in the SDPEBA Benefits Magazine is set to 24 to mirror what the City uses for their website and online enrollment portal. We wanted employees to be able to compare the rates on the same cycle. However, if you opt to take SDPEBA dental and/or vision through a non-flex deduction we must take it based on a 26-cycle period. The total yearly cost is the same.
